[Innisfree][Review] Soybean Energy Essence (Light)

This product was hyped on Innisfree Singapore facebook and when I went to Innisfree to buy some stuffs, they gave me 2 tiny bottles of Soybean Energy Essence (Light). When I got back home, I did some research... and just nice, the light one is actually for people with oily skin like mine.

Tiny bottle of sample I got for free
Fun fact: You can 'refill' this tiny bottle because the opening on this small bottle fits exactly on the grating of the full version (idk what to call it). I brought this refilled tiny bottle when I travel. Too bad I threw one of them away already.
I really was not familiar with this type of skin care. The idea of a concentrated solution actually scared me a bit. That night, I tried the essence for the first time. On Innisfree Singapore facebook page, they mentioned 2 methods to apply this on your face: with cotton pad and with hand. According to them, if you want to do some wrinkle care (well at this age I start to worry about wrinkle), you can just put the solution on your hand and pat your face gently.

After washing my face and putting on my toner, I applied this essence by patting some drops on my face. I did not feel anything special honestly. But then I went to slept and woke up with surprisingly less greasy face than usual in the morning. My face is really an oil factory not only during the day but also night, but this essence seems to lessen the oil production on my face. I am a sucker of products which will make my face less oily LOL... So after I finished my sample, I decided to buy this product which also claims to make your skin clearer and more radiant.

I got this product for S$59 which comes with 1 bottle of essence (150ml) and finish cream (25ml). Oh yeah there are 2 types of energy essence, the normal one (?) and the light one. Both are priced the same on the local shop.
150ml of Soybean Energy Essence (Light) & 25ml of Soybean Cream Finish for S$59
They do sell the essence individually without the finish cream at the same S$59. The full version of the finish cream is also priced around $S50 too.
  • The essence is packed in a nice plastic solid bottle. When I was cleaning my bathroom, I coincidentally dropped it but the bottle is still okay.
  • There is a natural smell from the essence. It's just a faint smell. If you don't purposely smell it from the bottle, you won't feel it. It smells like... fresh sour fruit?
  • The consistency is not completely watery (as far as I know most essence is sticky since it is a concentrated substance?) but there is this bit of stickiness although it really just feels like water when I applied it.
  • S$59 for 150ml is a lot. I use this twice a day and after more than one month, i still have 4/5 bottle left.
As for the finish cream... I don't really use it honestly. Not gonna review it since I only use it once in awhile for nothing LOL. One thing is this cream feels light and not sticky on my skin.

Overall I love this essence. I'm not sure if the claim of making my skin be clearer and more radiant is true or not... maybe I will have to use it for a longer time to see the result. But, it does help in oil control for me. And I like how it feels fresh and light on application.
